Meet The Maker

My name is Lorna and I live in Amesbury, Wiltshire. I am married and we have a daughter and two cats. My mum taught me to crochet a few years ago, and my Nan taught me to sew from a very young age. I have grown up making clothes and have always been interested in fashion.

I like to spend my spare time making clothes for my daughter, bunting and crocheting new things.  And this is where One Stitch At A Time started.

In today’s economy, we see a lot of plastic waste ending up in our oceans and destroying our world.  We live in a ‘throwaway society’, so I thought “what part can I play to help reduce plastic waste?” I Introduce to you:

The Reusable Face Scrubby!

The face scrubbies that I make are 100% cotton, so very friendly on your skin as they contain no harsh chemicals. I spend time to hand crochet each scrubby, ensuring it is entirely perfect before sending it out. My face scrubbies come in a paper box, which is easily recycled. They can be used to remove make up, wash your face and gently exfoliate your skin. And the best part is, you can wash them, and use them all over again. Thus cutting down on wet wipes, cotton wool pads and getting rid of the dreaded flannel!

So why is a face scrubby better than a flannel?

The way a flannel is designed means that they can become very rough overtime, and when using it can be very harsh on your skin. Exfoliating every day is not recommended as it destroys all the oils on your skin, causing your pores to produce more, which leads to breakouts and an oily T-zone. Cotton Face scrubbies are very soft as they are made with high quality cotton and have a rounded surface, making them gentle on your skin. Tough enough to remove make up, but soft enough to gently cleanse.
